What's new in Kontro (July 23)

NewImproved

✨ New this release

30-day view — The dashboard time-span selector now includes a 30-day option alongside 24 hours and 7 days, so you can spot longer trends at a glance.

New weather widget — Keep an eye on the sky right from your dashboard. Add the new Weather widget to see current conditions or a 5-day forecast, complete with cloud coverage. It can follow your system's GPS location automatically or you can pin it to any place you choose, and it shows temperatures in °C or °F to match your account setting. Screenshot 2026-07-23 at 11

Mute the alarms you don't need — You can now silence specific alarms right from the Alarms page. Tap the bell on any alarm to mute it - whether it's a connectivity "no data" alert for a whole system or a specific device warning, and it'll stop showing up in your alarm banner and notification badges. Muted alarms stay in your alarm log (clearly marked) so nothing is ever lost, and you can un-mute any time. (Use with caution!! ) Screenshot 2026-07-23 at 12

New AI-powered alarm emails — Plus members can now get an email when one of their systems raises an alarm, complete with a plain-English explanation from Kenny about what it means and what to check. You can optionally get a follow-up email when the alarm clears. Turn it on in Settings, and it respects any alarms you've muted. Screenshot 2026-07-23 at 12

Movement map with track export — The Map widget can now draw the path your system has travelled over the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days , with a smart filter that smooths out GPS jitter so the trail stays clean. You can export the path as a KML file and open it in Google Earth to relive the journey. Screenshot 2026-07-23 at 12

🔧 Improvements

Update your VRM key without losing your dashboards — If your VRM connection expires, you no longer have to disconnect everything and rebuild. You can now paste in a new key right from Settings → System, and all your systems, dashboards, and layouts stay exactly as they were.

Refresh your systems from VRM — Added a new system in VRM? Just hit "Refresh systems list from VRM" in Settings → System and it'll pull in any new systems while leaving your existing dashboards untouched.

🐛 Bug fixes

We tidied up a number of smaller issues this release — most notably around VRM connection reliability (updating your key now takes effect immediately), clearer messaging when a system is no longer available in your VRM account, more accurate long-range map tracks, and various display and readability touch-ups.

NewImproved

✨ New this release

Light theme. Kontro now comes in light and dark. Head to Settings → choose the look you prefer, and it sticks to your account so every device you sign in on matches. Dashboards, charts, gauges adapts automatically, so it stays easy to read whether you're below deck at night or out in bright sun. Screenshot 2026-07-16 at 12

Mute alarms you don't need. Tired of seeing the same alert every time a device drops offline? You can now mute any alarm from the Alarms page with a tap of the bell. Muted alarms stop cluttering the banner and the notification count, but they stay in your alarm log (clearly marked) so nothing is ever truly hidden. Mutes are set per system, so silencing one boat or site never affects another.

Choose Default °C or °F. You can now pick your preferred temperature unit — Celsius or Fahrenheit — as an account-wide default in Settings. Change it once and Kontro offers to update every temperature reading across all your systems and dashboards in one go. You can still override the unit on an individual widget whenever you like, and the System Overview widget now has its own °C/°F switch too.

Solar charge state at a glance. The Solar widget now shows a status pill up top — Bulk, Absorption, Float, and so on — so you can see exactly what stage your solar charging is in without opening anything else. If you have several chargers in different states, it neatly shows "Mixed." Screenshot 2026-07-16 at 12

🔧 Improvements

Redesigned Settings. Settings has a cleaner layout with a side menu (like the Help Center), so it's easier to find what you're looking for. The dashboard controls — edit your dashboard and take the tour — now sit right at the top, and your appearance and temperature preferences live together in one place.

**A quick check at sign-in. **To keep automated bots out, you'll now see a brief "I'm human" security check when signing up, logging in, or resetting your password. It's quick and usually just a single click.

🐛 Bug fixes

A smoother experience on iPhone. We polished the app for iPhone and home-screen (installed) use: no more empty gap under the bottom navigation bar, opening a menu or popup no longer nudges the page behind it, and tapping into a text field no longer zooms the screen in unexpectedly. The bottom navigation now sits correctly above the phone's own home bar, too.

What's New with Kontro (July 10th)

New

✨ New this release

Kontro now has a dedicated Integrations section in Settings. As we connect Kontro to more platforms, they'll fall into two groups: Outgoing data lets you send information from Kontro to other services, and Incoming data lets you pull information in from other platforms and show it on a Kontro dashboard. Our first integration is with NoForeignLand:

NoForeignLand — If you're on the water and have GPS data going into the Victron system, you can now share your position with the NoForeignLand community straight from Kontro. Head to Settings → Integrations, connect your boat, and Kontro will keep your location up to date. For Plus users, Kontro will keeps sharing in the background about once an hour, so your track stays current whether or not the app is open. Screenshot 2026-07-09 at 5 *Looking for a specific integration, let us know in the feedback section *

**Help Center **— There's now a proper help center with guides you can browse by topic, complete with a side menu to jump between articles. You'll find it as a new Help Center tab under Feedback / Help, Additional articles will be added in the next few days

🔧 Improvements

Smarter alarm dismissals — Dismissing an alarm that's still active now snoozes it instead of hiding it for good — it'll come back so a live issue can't slip through the cracks. Alarms that cleared while you were away are still shown so you don't miss anything, and your dismissals now stay tied to your own account.

**Easy VRM reconnection **— If your VRM token ever expires, you'll now see a friendly banner explaining what happened, with a one-tap link to reconnect. Affected systems are clearly marked so you know exactly what needs attention.

Smoother loading — We polished the way screens load so you no longer see brief flashes of content appearing and then disappearing while the app gets its bearings.

🐛 Bug fixes

Location marker stays put — On the Location widget, the GPS marker now stays locked exactly on your position when you zoom the map in and out, instead of drifting.

Feedback tabs scroll properly — The Feature Requests, Bug Reports, and General Feedback tabs now scroll the whole way, so you can always reach every post and the box to submit your own.

✨ New this release

**Advanced Chart Widget. ** Build your own custom charts with exactly the data you care about. Pick any devices and metrics, give each one a name and color, choose your chart style (smooth, stepped, or filled), and set the time range. You'll see a live preview as you build, and everything stays fully editable afterwards. Available on the Plus plan. Advanced Chart A walkthrough video is available in the How-To video library

New How-to video on how to create a Device Flow chart DeviceFlowChartEditor The video is available in the How-To video library

**Tap any chart to expand it. ** Every chart on your dashboard is now interactive, tap it to open a full-screen view with zoom and history, so you can dig into a specific day or a specific spike without leaving your dashboard. Tank widgets with multiple tanks get a separate chart for each. Popout Chart

**A guided tour on your phone and tablet. ** The first-time walkthrough that introduces you to Kontro now works beautifully on mobile, not just desktop. It shows you how to switch systems, read your dashboard, and — most importantly — how to edit and customize it to make it your own.

Never get stuck on an old version. When we release an update while you have Kontro open, you'll now see a friendly "Kontro was updated — Refresh" prompt instead of running into odd behavior. One tap and you're on the latest version.

🔧 Improvements

**Kenny, ** your AI assistant, got a lot smarter. He now leads with the most likely cause when you ask about an alarm, can answer questions about your location, tanks, and individual solar chargers, and keeps multi-system answers short and to the point. He also picked up a fresh sparkle icon.

**Smarter battery details. ** The top-right corner of the Battery widget now shows temperature when it's available, mid-point voltage if your battery reports that instead, or nothing at all if neither applies. The °C/°F setting only appears when your battery actually measures temperature.

🐛 Bug fixes

On iPad in portrait mode, the numbers in the Battery widget no longer overlap the battery gauge.

The Latest News section in Feedback wasn't loading for some people, that's fixed.

✨ New Features

Analog gauge widgets Four new arc-style gauge widgets are now available in the widget picker: Solar Gauge, Battery Gauge, Tank Gauge, and Environment Gauge. Each shows your live readings on a curved dial instead of a bar or number, with color-coded arcs that shift as values change. Add them alongside (or instead of) the existing widget styles.

How-to video library A new How-to tab in Feedback / Help contains short tutorial videos to help you get the most out of Kontro. Videos will be added regularly

VRM setup walkthrough When connecting your VRM token for the first time, a short video appears on the setup screen showing exactly how to generate and copy the token from the VRM portal.

🔧 Improvements

Redesigned Plan page Starter and Plus are now shown side by side with a full feature comparison, making it easy to see exactly what you get on each plan and what changes when a trial expires.

Alarm grouping Multiple alarms from the same system are now grouped into a single banner row showing a count, instead of stacking into a long list of individual alerts.

Inverter widget redesign The Inverter widget now shows your active AC source (Grid, Generator, Shore Power, or Disconnected), the inverter's current state, and a full breakdown of DC voltage and current. A Basic / Detailed toggle in settings keeps things compact or shows the full picture.

Redesigned Add Widget library The widget picker has been refreshed with clearer section dividers and a better layout, making it easier to browse and find what you're looking for.

🐛 Bug fixes

Solar yield totals mismatched On systems with multiple solar chargers, the aggregated yield-today figure could differ from what VRM shows. This is now calculated correctly.

Dashboard changes lost on system switch In some cases, unsaved dashboard edits were discarded when switching between systems. Saves now flush correctly before the switch happens.

Multi-system page routing Fixed an issue where creating a new page from the multi-system view could assign it to the wrong system.

Mobile layout clipping Fixed a viewport sizing issue that caused the layout to be clipped or scroll incorrectly on certain mobile devices.

✨ New Features release

Device Flow — visualize your energy system You can now add a Device Flow widget to your dashboard. Drag in your devices, connect them with animated flow lines, and watch energy move across your system in real time. Each connection can show a live metric (like power or current). You can configure everything from the widget settings and copy/paste your design between dashboards or systems so you're not starting from scratch every time. \DeviceDashboardLoopSmall

Ask Kenny about your alarms When an alarm is triggered, an Ask Kenny button appears directly on the alarm banner and within the Kenny chat window. With a single click, Kenny can explain what the alarm means, identify likely causes, and provide recommended troubleshooting and resolution steps to help you get your system back to normal quickly. (Kenny is still learning so the answers might contain inaccuracies) Kenny-Alarms

🔧 Improvements

Redesigned Inverter widget The Inverter widget has been rebuilt from the ground up. It now shows your active AC source (Grid, Generator, Shore Power, or Disconnected), the inverter's current state (Inverting, Passthru, Float, Bulk, and more), and a full per-phase breakdown of input and output. There's also a new Basic / Detailed toggle in settings — Basic keeps it compact with combined totals, Detailed shows the full phase-by-phase picture.

Redesigned Add Widget library The widget picker has been refreshed with a cleaner two-column layout, making it easier to browse and add widgets to your dashboard.

** Redesigned devices list** Devices list now shows up as a table instead of cards, providing more information at a better layout. DevicesList

🐛 Bug fixes

Battery widgets showing wrong data On systems with multiple batteries, the Battery and Battery Status widgets could show the same SOC and voltage for every device — regardless of which one was selected in settings. This is now fixed: each widget shows data only for its selected battery.

Dashboard changes lost on sign-out In some cases, unsaved dashboard changes were discarded when signing out. Kontro now flushes any pending saves before clearing your session, so nothing is lost.

Mobile layout issues Fixed a viewport sizing problem that caused the layout to be clipped or scroll incorrectly on certain mobile devices.

Multi-system page routing Fixed an issue where creating a new page from the multi-system view could assign it to the wrong system.
